Aug.12
•Complainant reported that he found a bike that has been at location for about a week. It is blue and silver in color. Deputy picked it up and put it in our impound.
•Complainant reported horrible living conditions and abuse going on.
•Complainant requested a deputy be present when she goes to pick up child from grandmother. Child returned to parent.
•Complainant requested to speak to deputy about a young girl in the neighborhood going through people’s mailboxes. Parents were talked to, and they agreed to keep an eye on the kids while they’re outside.
•Deputy received a report of subject firing a BB gun off in city limits of Hills into trees.
Aug. 13
•Complainant reported they will be gone for two weeks and would like a residence check.
•Complainant requested welfare check on granddaughter. Deputy checked and everything is OK.
•Complainant reported vehicle broke down at location and man is walking on I-90 mile marker 10.
•Deputy arrested subject on warrant and took him to jail.
Aug. 14
•Deputy administrated Breathalyzer tests to two underage males. They were cited for consuming.
•Deputy reported some vandalism on Barck Avenue.
•Complainant reported his pickup was stolen overnight. Entered into National Crime Information Center.
•Complainant reported a man and woman arguing at location. Verbal only. Female is going to stay with mother and male is leaving to go to WalMart. Male had a bloody nose but stated he fell chasing vehicle and refused medical treatment.
•Deputy found a vehicle with a plate that does not match that vehicle. The plate comes back to a red Ford Windstar out of Worthington. Towed by G&S to our impound. Conditions of release are valid driver, insurance and vehicle registered correctly with new plates.
•Complainant reported lawn mower and two heaters stolen on West Mead Court.
•Complainant requested welfare check on subject.
Aug. 15
•Complainant reported child neglect.
•Complainant reported they received a nonsufficient funds check in the amount of $89.00.
•Complainant reported they received a nonsufficient funds check in the amount of $26.39.
•Complainant reported a spill that was 99 percent contained. They cleaned up the rest.
•Complainant reported illegal trash burning at location. Deputy reported that it was wood and wood laminate that was burning. Deputy advised subject that wood was OK, but anything else needs to go to the dump.
•Complainant reported an open door at a business. Deputy secured the door and owner was contacted.
•Complainant reported finding a fishing bag at the pond at the Veterans Home.
•Complainant locked her keys in her car and cannot contact a locksmith.
•Deputy conducted traffic stop at location for taillight. Deputy advised it will be motorist assist with vehicle trouble, and he will be escorting the vehicle to the Beaver Creek exit.
Aug. 16
•Deputy arrested subject for DWI refusal. She was taken to the Nobles County jail.
•Complainant reported he found something in the alley behind Sterling’s. Item was part to cable TV hookup.
•Complainant reported he lost his wallet possibly around the area of St. Catherine Church or on Main Street around Pizza Ranch on Sunday. The wallet is brown with Scooby Doo on it.
•Complainant reported they had a flat tire. Transferred to State Patrol.
•Complainant reported a pickup sitting in the turning lane at location. She was not sure if the subject inside was sleeping.
•Sheriff reported someone flagged him down to help unlock a vehicle.
•Complainant requested assistance serving a felony warrant on subject. Subject was picked up and taken to Sioux Falls.
•Deputy reported seeing subject enter vehicle and drive away from his residence in Luverne. Subject is cancelled – inimical to public safety – and will be charged.
•Complainant reported seeing two males fighting outside of vehicle along County Highway 4 west of Luverne. Deputy stopped vehicle and all is OK.
•Complainant reported vandalism to her vehicle.
•Complainant reported that she wants to get personal items from her ex-husband’s home and would like a deputy to assist her. Subject also stopped at Law Enforcement Center and said that none of complainant’s family is allowed on his property. Both parties were told that a deputy would be in contact with them.
•Complainant reported that subject is at her residence, and she wants him out. Subject was removed from the property and was warned for trespassing.
•Complainant reported subject is trying to get into a car that is impounded at location. Deputies warned subjects to stay off the property or they will be arrested.
•Complainant reported that he will be flying his drone and wanted the Rock County Sheriff’s Office to be aware of his actions.
•Deputies arrested subject for probation violation and took him to jail.
•Deputies arrested two people, one for DWI and one for disorderly conduct. They were taken to jail.
Aug. 17
•Complainant reported a domestic between her friend and his girlfriend.
•Complainant reported that there was a very old two-door pickup, dark in color, driving very slow past her place and then backing up and going again and turned around. She said when they saw her out in the yard with her phone, they took off fast.
•Complainant requested something in writing to get a title from another state on a vehicle.
•Complainant reported she has a restraining order on her ex, and he keeps violating it. Complainant would like a deputy to speak with him and not arrest him.
•Complainant reported that a black car on East Fairway Drive keeps racing back and forth. There are a lot of little kids in the neighborhood. The car is a black car with white paint; possibly hand-painted job. Complainant is requesting extra patrol.
•Complainant reported her child’s grandmother choked him.
Aug. 18
•Complainant reported a burglary by her ex. He is driving his mother’s car, and he is suspended in Iowa. He broke her TV and took her phone. Subject was arrested and taken to jail.
•Scott reported that a man left a lot of garbage in their lot. They got the license plate, and the man is also known to the complainant, who works for Eastern Farmers Co-op in Jasper.
•Complainant reported a black Dodge pickup with little or no muffler has been racing up and down the road and almost hit her this morning on 90th Avenue.
•Complainant reported she would like extra patrol on Barck Avenue. Vehicles are driving extra fast, and there are a lot of kids in the area.
•Complainant reported child endangerment.
•Complainant reported he is having issues with his girlfriend and wanted to speak with a deputy about it.
•Complainant reported that there was an older style motorhome pulling a car on I-90 by exit westbound in the north ditch. He was driving very slowly in the ditch with the motorhome door open. Caller was not sure how they were going to get out of the ditch. Notified State Patrol.
•Deputies arrested subject on a warrant out of North Dakota and took him to jail.
In addition, officers responded to 3 motor vehicle accidents, 1 transport, 2 funeral escorts, 17 traffic stops, 17 ambulance runs, 4 paper services, 10 animal complaints, 2 false 911 calls, 1 driver’s license check, 4 fingerprint requests, 7 log/alarm sheets, 9 drug court tests, 3 money escorts, and issued 1 purchase/carry permit and 4 burn permits.
