July 10
•Nobles County requested we transfer subject west to the South Dakota state line. This is the same subject that was taken to Nobles County a couple of hours ago. Deputy took him to the state line.
•Complainant reported a strong smell coming from the apartments on N. Freeman Street.
•Complainant reported an unsafe driver on Hwy. 23 south of Jasper. Transferred call to state patrol.
•Complainant reported a bike rack in the road on I-90 mm 18 westbound. Deputy checked the area and did not find it. Must have been picked up.
•Complainant reported a white Mitsubishi sedan with Minnesota plates, east of Hills on 31st Street, is passing vehicles in no passing zones and driving unsafe. Complainant is willing to sign a complaint.
•Complainant reported we might get a trouble alarm at a business because they are having problems with their alarms. The issues will be fixed next week.
July 11
•Complainant requested a deputy be present while subject picks up some belongings.
•Dispatcher received a 911 call with only noise and it sounded like a child screaming. Called the number back and they advised it was a pocket dial and they were at a birthday party.
•Dispatcher received a 911 call with background noise and no sign of distress. Called the number back and was advised it was a pocket dial.
•Complainant reported he received a disturbing text from subject.
•Complainant reported a driver drinking Budweiser and driving erratically, tailgating, and cutting off other vehicle. Also crossing the fog and center line and hit two construction cones on I-90 westbound heading toward Rock County.
•Complainant reported a pedestrian on I-90 westbound mm 6. Also noticed a broken down vehicle on the Beaver Creek on ramp. Deputy located subject walking at mm 6 and gave him a ride to Valley Springs exit. Vehicle is blocking the on ramp so Erwin’s towed it.
•Complainant reported a man who gave the name of Dan tried to get into his house. He is possibly intoxicated and is walking up Dodge Street towards Hwy. 75. He is tall and skinny with a beard and wearing a stocking cap and baggy brown pants.
July 12
•Complainant reported a couple from Washington, one of which is seven months pregnant, has no food, fuel, or money and needs help. Deputy assisted with Salvation Army voucher for gas and gave them directions to Sioux Falls. They said they had ¾ tank of gas so no voucher was needed.
•Complainant reported two guests paid for their rooms through Sunday and are due to check out but refused to leave. Deputy advised that the people have a room in Sioux Falls. He gave them thirty minutes and told management if they’re not gone then to call back.
•Complainant reported a pickup with a horse trailer on I-90 right before the exit. Driver was trying to flag someone down for help. Deputy advised they did not want help as they have a friend bringing them coolant so they can get into town.
•Dispatcher received a 911 call with no one on the line. Deputy went to area and spoke to three cars that were pulled over. They all said they did not call 911.
•Deputy reported there is a mattress and recliner burning in Steen. Called resident who was not home and said he knew nothing about it but would head there now.
•Complainant reported a sexual assault of a juvenile female.
•Complainant reported subject has been crossing the center and fog line and has delayed reaction.
July 13
•Complainant reported his semi was broken into sometime between 10:30 p.m. on July 10 and 5:15 a.m. on July 13. He is missing his GPS and a TV.
•Complainant reported semis driving at a high rate of speed through Magnolia heading eastbound. One truck is yellow and is a dirt hauler.
•Complainant reported his semi was broken into sometime between 3 p.m. on July 10 and 3 a.m. on July 13. Complainant is missing items and will bring in a list.
•Complainant reported theft of a homemade trailer from Beaver Creek.
•Complainant reported the road will be closed on 221st State Hwy. 23 to 20th Avenue until tomorrow.
•Complainant reported kids are throwing rocks and sticks at her.
•Complainant reported subject is harassing her through text messages. She is a friend of his ex and he’s trying to get her to text his ex for him.

•Complainant reported subject is harassing him and making threats of bodily harm.
•Complainant reported a possible roadside domestic. Deputy reported it was a verbal argument over finances.
July 14
•Complainant reported she lost her keys in Hills.
•Complainant reported theft of umpire equipment on Saturday.
•Complainant reported her oven is on fire. Paged Luverne Fire Department. Notified electric department.
•Complainant reported a domestic situation.
•Complainant reported someone going door-to-door trying to get roofing jobs. Contacted the city and they do not have a solicitor’s license.
•Complainant reported her ex does not live with her and will not leave. Lots of arguing in the background. Male left before deputies arrived.
•Complainant reported a silver Suburban or Tahoe at the gas station with two gas tanks tied to the back and a license plate not showing.
•Complainant requested information about a facility for a teen who keeps running away.
•Dispatcher received a fire alarm at the old Hills Beaver Creek school. Paged Hills Fire Department.
July 15
•Complainant reported that her ex was knocking on her door loudly last night and was stalking her. She was advised to get an order for protection and to call in when things are happening.
•Complainant reported he paid a company to sell his time-share and it was a fraud.
•Complainant reported problems with a family member and they need help dealing with the situation.
•Reserved for POR registration.
•Complainant reported his semi was broken into over the weekend and he had two sets of toolboxes taken.
•Complainant requested a deputy accompany them while they get some personal items.
•Dispatcher received a 911 hang-up. Attempted to contact the number back and someone picked it up and hung up. Deputy went to the residence in Beaver Creek to check and see if there was a problem.
•Complainant reported someone was taking pictures of her and flipped her off. Deputy went to talk with the person taking pictures.
•Deputy conducted a traffic stop and requested Erwin’s to tow a vehicle. Driver cited for D.A.S. and no proof of insurance.
•Complainant reported a bicycle was stolen from Donaldson Street and Lincoln Street. It’s a trek pro lite mountain bike 15” in pear white with white paint spackle on it.
•Deputy arrested subject for being cancelled-IPS. He was taken to jail.
•Complainant reported he went to a rental property he owns and the renter is gone. The window was taken out in the bedroom.
•Complainant reported solicitors on E. Barck Avenue with no current solicitors license. Sent deputy to check it out.
•Complainant reported she locked her keys in her car. She was given the number for a locksmith.
•Deputy cited driver for D.A.R. and no proof of insurance.
July 16
•Complainant reported a silver car on I-90 eastbound near mm 10 that is going at a high rate of speed and weaving in and out of traffic. Unsure of what state the plate was out of. All the windows were covered with tinfoil. Notified state patrol.
•Complainant reported theft of several items taken from his shop. Could have happened on July 10.
•Complainant reported a man in a Buick behind the gas station that is not waking up to loud noises. Deputy arrested man and took him to jail for DWI.
•Complainant reported a golf cart on fire in Hills. Paged Hills Fire Department.
•Complainant reported kids standing on the north side of the road, on W. Warren Street near the flower shop, and cars are having to go around them. Deputy spoke to a small group of adults and advised them to get out of the way.
•Complainant reported there was a red four-door car with black rims doing burnouts at the city park. Car left but the group of kids that were talking to the driver is still at the park. Deputy went to park and vehicle had hit a water fountain, which is bent. City is notified.
•Deputy stopped subject and cited him for small amount of marijuana.
In addition, officers responded to 5 motor vehicle accidents, 2 deer accidents, 2 transports, 15 ambulance runs, 3 parking violations, 2 paper services, 7 animal complaints, 1 gas drive-off, 7 log/alarm sheets, 5 drug court tests, and issued 1 purchase/carry permit and 8 burn permits.
