Aug. 7
•Complainant reported that she was missing an old white push mower that belonged to her ex-husband’s aunt and uncle. He left it behind when they divorced and she believes her father took it.
•Complainant reported someone just threatened to burn down his house. Subject said he was there trying to collect money he was owed and he made a comment to complainant.
•Complainant reported theft of medication.
•Complainant requested assistance with traffic control detouring people off the interstate at mm 18 eastbound because of an accident.
•Complainant requested assistance with the accident on I-90 eastbound lane mm 18.
•Deputy stopped vehicle for speeding on Hwy. 75 mm 6 for going 111 in a 60 mph zone.
•Complainant requested a welfare check on subject. They haven’t seen him all day and he hasn’t brought in his recycling. Complainant called back to report his sister returned home.
•Complainant requested extra patrol as he has received a threat from someone.
•Complainant reported her daughter is making threats of suicide and there is a child in the home. Contacted Sioux Falls to check on her.
Aug. 8
•Dispatch received a 911 call with movement on the line but no one would talk. Pocket dial.
•Complainant reported vandalism to a vehicle.
•Complainant requested a residence check for one week.
•Complainant reported identity theft.
•Complainant reported her boyfriend knocked her off a lawn mower. Parties were separated.
•Complainant reported several young kids on S. Main Ave. in Hills who said their parents locked them out of their house.
•Complainant reported residents on W. Lincoln Street are having a gathering in their yard and it’s a little noisy. Complainant would like a deputy to ask them to keep it down. Deputy spoke to resident and they will keep it quiet.
•Deputy stopped vehicle and cited driver for no Minnesota driver’s license and marijuana in motor vehicle. Vehicle was towed by Erwin’s.
Aug. 9
•Complainant reported a jeep in front of them was swerving on I-90 westbound mm 7. Also notified State Patrol.
•Deputy conducted a traffic stop and cited him for no MN driver’s license. Valid drivers showed up to take his vehicle home, along with theirs.
•Complainant reported problems with her boyfriend. She is in South Dakota at the rest area.
Aug. 10
•Complainant reported someone driving with a newborn baby in their lap. They are currently in McDonald’s in the drive thru.
•Dispatch received a 911 hang-up call with no answer. Sent deputy to check and no one was there. A neighbor had just seen her and she was going to go run errands.
•Complainant reported a patient had received narcotics and was instructed not to drive. Subject then drove off property and headed east toward N. Bluemound Ave.
•Complainant reported a shotgun lying on the shoulder of the road on I-90 mm 17. Notified State Patrol.
•Complainant reported a car sitting on County Rd. 6, north of I-90, all blacked out. There are a couple of people sitting in front of it. State Patrol heard traffic and said they were in the area and would check on it.
•Deputy was stopped by a male in Hills who reported a young couple in their 20’s walking around town. It looked like they were trying to break into a house.
Aug. 11
•Complainant reported her grandson unlocked the front door of her apartment and took off. Child is autistic and non-verbal. He is wearing a tan shirt with dark green lettering, navy blue shorts, and is barefoot. He has blond hair and green eyes. Child was found inside the apartment building.
•Complainant requested a welfare check on subject. They can’t get hold of him and he has been depressed lately.
•Complainant reported there is a car parked in the street that has been running all day. Complainant got to work at 8 a.m. and the car was running then and has not moved all day.
•Complainant reported someone burning garbage on W. Lawn Park St.
•Complainant reported vandalism to her property.
•Complainant reported someone stole a 2” hitch slug and a piece of rebar. Complainant stated he went inside for a minute and it was gone when he came back.
•Deputy stopped vehicle and cited subject for small amount of marijuana.
Aug. 12
•Deputy arrested subject for DWI and took him to jail.
•Complainant reported a carpet cleaner was rented and never returned.
•Complainant reported she was attacked by a family member.
•Complainant reported he wants to press charges against people for trespassing.
•Complainant requested a welfare check on subject. Deputy checked and everything was fine.
•Complainant reported a break-in and requested a deputy meet them to discuss it.
•Deputy arrested subject on warrant and took her to jail.
•Complainant reported a darker red pickup with a flag hanging from the tailgate speeding up and down E. Luverne St.
•Complainant reported subject wrote a bad check to Glen’s Food and Gas Center.
•Complainant reported a vehicle with a female driver and children almost caused an accident in the construction and yelled obscenities at her. Complainant would like a deputy to speak with the driver. Vehicle was maroon.
•Complainant requested we do a welfare check on a relative whom she has not seen in months. Sent deputy to check on him.
Aug. 13
•Deputy stopped vehicle for expired registration.
•Reserved for narcotic information.
•Complainant reported that her husband took their three-year-old child and left after hitting her. He was headed south toward Hills in a blue Dodge truck. Sent deputy.
•Complainant requested we transport a transient to the South Dakota line.
•Deputy arrested subject for DWI and took him to jail.
In addition, officers responded to 6 motor vehicle accidents, 2 transports, 2 funeral escorts, 18 ambulance runs, 1 parking violation, 4 paper services, 6 animal complaints, 1 false alarm, 2 gas drive-offs, 7 log/alarm sheets, 4 drug court tests, and issued 5 purchase/carry permits and 5 burn permits.
