Dispatch report
March 18
•Complainant reported that part of a gravel road was washed out on 20th Avenue and 221st Street. Rose Dell Township person was contacted and will check into it. Deputy spoke with the county and they will haul some gravel out there and the road needs better posting to stop traffic.
•Complainant reported receiving harassing texts on his cell phone. Complainant was advised to contact his cell phone company as the texts disappeared when he dropped his phone.
•Complainant requested we check on a family situation. Deputy went to check and requested that someone from Family Services come to his location.
•Dispatcher returned a cell phone to a female upon her release from jail.
•Complainant reported that she has been receiving harassing phone calls from a male.
•Deputy was flagged down about a vehicle sitting by the school for a long time. Turned out to be a man waiting for his daughter to get out of school.
•Complainant reported male is supposed to go to respite care in Worthington and is out of control and will not go. Deputy reported male was on his way now.
•Complainant reported a boy, about 12, is playing way too close to where the dam was. Complainant is concerned for his safety. His parents are there, also. Complainant then reported that the boy and his parents have gone now.
•Complainant from Hills reported her son was at the park when some teenagers ran over his bike and smashed it. Deputy reported the parties are going to work it out between themselves. Complainant was instructed to call if there were further problems.
•Deputy cited male for driving after revocation. Contacted G&S to tow vehicle to their lot.
•Complainant reported he saw three boys looking through vehicles on W. Hatting Street. They left in what looks like a white Monte Carlo.
•Complainant reported he was assaulted by another kid. Deputy arrested an 18-year-old for disorderly conduct and harassing communications. He was taken to jail.
•Complainant reported a pickup off of Hwy. 75 at 141st Street with flashers on. It looks like it either ran off the road or had an accident.
March 19
•Complainant reported a car on fire on W. Main Street. Car is totally engulfed. Owner is in the street. Deputy arrested the driver for third degree DWI and took him to jail.
•Complainant reported that they had a gas drive-off of $23.02. Vehicle was a late 1990s gray Ford Taurus with a wilderness plate. Partial plate is AP594. Vehicle was headed north on Hwy. 75. Contacted Pipestone County to watch for the vehicle also.
•Complainant reported a dog bite victim at the ER. Happened in Lester, Iowa. Rabies shots are up to date. Faxed report to Lyon County, Iowa.
•Complainant in Magnolia reported they had four runners that took off out the gym door and may have headed west. Two boys returned and the other two were in the field by 190th Avenue. At 7:31 p.m. the other two were in custody. Two of them were taken to Nobles County Jail.
•Complainant reported a woman is threatening to commit suicide. Woman was found at the hospital and she is being taken care of.
March 20
•Complainant reported that he received a prank call saying his son had been picked up by the police in Adrian. He has received numerous calls like this recently and wanted to know what he could do.
•Deputy reported a gray Concord drove past his squad car and peppered it with paint balls. Suspect vehicle is a silver 2002 Dodge Intrepid, which was towed to the impound. Several kids were picked up and admitted to shooting 10 to 15 cars and signs.
•Complainant reported a smashed mailbox on 201st Street.
•Complainant reported an open door at a business. Contacted keyholder who said that there was a meeting going on and that’s the only way in.
•Dispatcher received a burglar alarm at business. Found an employee working.
March 21
•Complainant reported they bought a lawn mower over the Internet and found out it is a scam. They’ve already paid for it.
•Complainant requested an emergency locate as they were going to be doing work tonight on W. Fairview Drive. Contacted Brian at Missouri River Energy Services.
•Complainant requested extra patrol around the area due to a middle-aged black woman, usually wearing a reddish-orange jacket, who is peering in cars and checking out houses at all hours of the day or night.
•Complainant reported subject was drinking and wanted him tested. Sent deputy. No one home.
March 22
•Dispatcher received an automated elevator emergency call from a church. Contacted church and they advised they were testing. They were advised to let dispatch know in the future, unless they want the fire department.
•Complainant reported there is a false ad on Craigslist that has her daughter’s number on it.
•Pipestone County received a call from a person whose black Cavalier broke down at Hwy. 23 and County Rd. 8. They notified Minnesota Highway Patrol and stated complainant will be coming to get it off the road. For our information in case we get calls.
•Complainant reported she is northbound from Hills to Beaver Creek behind a semi, possibly a mail truck, has a black trailer K and S or K and T on it and it’s all over the road. She doesn’t dare pass. Complainant called back, vehicle is now at the Beaver Creek Post Office. Sheriff was unable to locate the vehicle, but reported that it was very windy out there and that’s probably the reason it was all over the road.
•Complainant reported an abusive male who violated an order for protection. Man was taken to jail.
•Dispatcher received several alarms after a power outage. They were checked out and all were OK.
•Complainant reported a red and silver Chevy pickup driving recklessly around S. Freeman Avenue squealing tires, power breaking, etc. Deputy found subject at Subway. Warned him about his driving behavior.
March 23
•Dispatch received a fax from MN Duty Officer of a bypass of the wastewater facility in Jasper due to rain.
•Deputy arrested a man for domestic abuse. He was taken to jail.
•Complainant requested that a person is out of town and there are lights on in his apartment. Requested deputy check it out. Keyholder will contact owner later today.
•Sheriff reported he took three small canines from a farm and took them to the Rock Vet Clinic for examination. Photos were taken of the animals.
•Deputy reported a vehicle on the shoulder of the road at County Rd. 5 and 90th Avenue. Contacted owner and he stated he would get it moved.
•Complainant reported that a 10-year-old child had shot a BB gun and broke their window.
•Complainant reported a domestic abuse situation. Sent deputies.
March 24
•Complainant reported water gushing out of the ground on N. Kniss Avenue 20 feet north of W. Crawford Street. May be a water main leak. Contacted city personnel.
•Complainant reported a small child walking down the middle of the street heading to school.
•Complainant requested a welfare check on her mom. She had surgery on Friday and they have not talked to her since Monday. Sent sheriff. Doors were locked; dogs barking. Called daughter back and she is en route.
•Complainant reported a possible sex offense that occurred a long time ago.
•Dispatch received a 911 call with no one on the line. Called back but got no answer. Sent deputy.
•Complainant reported that she has an order for protection against a man and he just got out of court and called her again, twice. He was re-arrested and taken back to jail.
•Complainant reported a white Jeep, with South Dakota plates, that was riding her bumper for quite a while then would pass her and slow down. Took the Luverne exit north into Luverne. Will sign a complaint.
•Complainant reported someone is parking in his assigned spot at his apartment complex. He was advised to contact the landlord, as it’s private property.
•Complainant reported sometime between 10 p.m. last night and 3:30 a.m. this morning, someone took some money and a camera out of her vehicle.
•Complainant reported there would be a train on 241st Street around 1 to 2 a.m. Notified bus garage.
In addition, officers responded to 2 motor vehicle accidents, 4 transports, 1 funeral escort, 4 animal complaints, 1 paper service, 5 ambulance runs, 2 false alarms, 2 fingerprint requests, 1 driver’s license record request and issued 22 burn permits.
 

District court
•Jose Rivera, Worthington, is guilty of no Minnesota driver’s license; pay $185 fine.
•Anthony Wade Staples, Slayton, is guilty of open bottle, drinking and driving; pay $235 fine.
•Dustin Jay Stolp, Milroy, is guilty of worn rear end drag link end, pay $235 fine.
•Timothy Joseph Roberts, Fulda, is guilty of failure to secure load, inoperative trailer brakes and failure to hook safety chains; pay $305 fine.
•Brandy Elaine DeSollar, Luverne, is guilty of no Minnesota driver’s license, no insurance; pay $385 fine.
•Trevor Alex DenHerder, Luverne, is guilty of misdemeanor use of artificial light shining, rifle and bow seized; pay $185 fine.
•Benjamin John Aukes, Luverne, is guilty of fourth degree DWI. His sentence of 90 days in jail is stayed on the following conditions: 1) be placed on supervised probation for one year; 2) pay $500 fine together with surcharges and court fees; 3) undergo chemical use assessment; 4) attend a MADD panel; and 5) pay chemical dependency assessment surcharge.
