Teen Dating Violence Awareness Night Feb. 11

The Southwest Crisis Center will sponsor an “Orange-Out” event in recognition of Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month at the Windom vs. Luverne double-header basketball game on Thursday, Feb. 11, in Windom.

All four teams will join together to raise awareness during this game by wearing orange. Spectators to the game are invited to wear orange to show support for their teams and help raise awareness.

One in three teens in the United States is a victim of physical, sexual, emotional or verbal abuse from a dating partner. This figure far exceeds rates of other types of youth violence.

Teens, parents, and community members can learn more at www.loveisrespect.org. The Southwest Crisis Center serves victims and survivors of domestic and sexual violence, sexual exploitation, and trafficking in Southwest Minnesota.
