Gas smell detected on West Main Street

The Luverne Fire Department was called to a report of a gas smell at 211 W. Main Street Monday afternoon around 3:30 p.m. The Rock County Sheriff’s Office and Minnesota State Patrol closed off the block while firefighters investigated the source of the odor. After CenterPoint Energy personnel showed up and deemed it wasn’t an emergency, law enforcement and firemen left the scene.
