The Hills-Beaver Creek School Board met for its semi-monthly meeting at 7:00 p.m. at the H-BC School District Board room, 301 N Summit Ave, Hills, MN.

Board members and Administration present were Gehrke, Helgeson,

Rauk and Uittenbogaard. Superintendent Holthaus, Principal Kellenberger and

Business Manager Rozeboom were also in attendance. Board members Bosch,

Harnack and Rozeboom were absent.

Appointed Eric Uittenbogaard as Acting Treasurer.

Motion by Helgeson, second by Rauk, and carried to approve the agenda.

No visitors.

PATRIOT PRIDE:

-H-BC Football Players made Daily Globe All-Area Team - Beau Bakken, Riley

Tatge, Jack Moser, Micah Bush

-On 12/15/23 H-BC Blue Knowledge Bowl team (Grades 7-9) placed 14th out of

38 teams which advanced them to Regions at SMSU in Marshall on

1/3/24.There they placed 21st out of 30 teams. Members: Tryg Tollefson, Tatyana

Williams, Carie Merson and Katelyn Chesley.

  -Local Organizations and Individuals that donated to families in need this time

of year- Including- Alliance Communications, First Presbyterian Church of Beaver

Creek, Rock County SHARE, Steen Reformed Church Sunday School Department

-Secondary Band playing at the SkyForce game this past Sunday.

Personnel/Finance Committee Meeting 1/3/2024

Motion by Helgeson, second by Uittenbogaard, and carried to approve consent

agenda:

-Imprest Cash Report

-Second Reading of ESST Non Certified Staff Handbook Language

-Assigning Tyson Metzger as 9th grade Boys Basketball Coach

-Designating the District Depository as Security Savings Bank, Hills, MN -Designating the Rock County Star-Herald as the district’s official newspaper

-Designating the District Office Entrance #1 (301 N Summit Ave, Hills, MN) as

the official location for posting notice of all district meetings and announcements

-Designating setting Second and Fourth Monday of the month as Board Meeting

Days at 7 p.m. in the Secondary School Board Room-301 N Summit Ave, Hills,

MN for Board of Education Meetings for the 2024 year. On those days that are

designated as legal meeting days.

-Designating Knutson Flynn & Deans, PA as the District’s Legal Counsel -Designating Superintendent and Board Chairperson as authorized to seek

assistance for District legal matters with assigned legal counsel

-Designating the Treasurer to Pay Bills

-Designating the Superintendent and Business Office to perform the duties of

Treasurer

-Designating the Business Manager and Superintendent to make wire transfers

for District Bond Payments and other district expenses that may require such

transactions

-Designating the Superintendent to contract for goods and services

-Designating the Business Manager and Athletic Director to sign checks on the

Imprest account.

-Designating the Elementary Principal, Todd Holthaus as Local Education

Agency/Federal Programs Director

-Designating Principal, Andrew Kellenberger, as the Title IX Coordinator

-Mileage Reimbursement rate of per mile for personal use of vehicle, when

district vehicle is unavailable.

-Designate the chair of the MSHSL H-BC Board Committee as the Board

Representative to the MN State High School League and voting member

Motion by Uittenbogaard, second by Rauk, and carried to approve Setting

Board Member compensation:

-Meeting Pay: $50.00

-Full Day Meeting Pay: $50.00

-Committee Pay: $50.00

-Mileage Reimbursement for attending outside of district meetings: 60.3 cents.

Motion by Rauk, second by Uittenbogaard, and carried to approve Resolution providing for combined polling places for school district elections not held on the day of a statewide election for the year 2025.

Motion by Uittenbogaard, second by Helgeson, and carried to approve Resolution Resolution directing the Superintendent to make recommendations for adjustments in curriculum, programs, and staff for the 2024-2025 school year.

Motion by Rauk, second by Uittenbogaard, and carried to approve Setting Student Fees for the following Activities at No Charge for 2024 School Year: Boys and Girls Golf, Boys and Girls Track, Summer Elementary Swimming registration and busing, Summer Speed Camp registration, Secondary Band and Choir Valleyfair Trip.

Motion by Helgeson, second by Uittenbogaard, and carried to approve moving

the Board of Education Regular Meeting from Monday, January 22, 2024, to Wednes-

day, January 24, 2024.
