School News June 2020

Three Hills-Beaver Creek students and one from Luverne Middle School placed in the 2020 Southwest/West Central Creative Writing Contest.
H-BC seventh-grader Mazzi Moore placed first in non-fiction writing about Woodrow Wilson as “Most Influential President.”
Kamron Kellenberger, an H-BC third-grader, placed first in poetry for “Robbers and Thieves.”
A second-place finish was given to Brooklynne Hubbard, a H-BC fifth-grader, in non-fiction writing for “On Small Farm.”
Makenzie Pap with LMS was selected third in fiction writing for the seventh- through eight-grade age group.
A virtual awards ceremony honored the 256 students in third through twelfth grade who submitted entries in one or more of the three categories: poetry, fiction and non-fiction.
First-place winners were awarded $20 gift certificates to Barnes and Noble.
