NDSU announces spring dean’s list

Savanna Thielbar and Sydney Thielbar were named to the North Dakota State University, Fargo, Spring 2017 dean’s list. To be eligible, students must earn a 3.5 GPA with at least 12 credits.

Savanna is majoring in women and gender studies, and Sydney is majoring in accounting. They are the daughters of Bart and Paula Thielbar, Luverne.

Students graduate from Gustavus Adolphus

Three Luverne students received Bachelor of Arts degrees from Gustavus Adolphus College at commencement exercises Sunday, May 28.

Scott Nelson graduated cum laude with a degree in public accounting; Joseph Vajgrt graduated cum laude with a degree in nursing; Dustin Deutsch received a degree in biology.

 

Minnesota West releases dean’s list

Several area students were named to the Spring 2017 semester dean’s list at Minnesota West Community and Technical College. To be eligible, students must be enrolled in at least 12 graded credits and earn a minimum of a 3.5 GPA.

The following students were named to the dean’s list: from Adrian, Brenna Kramer, Cyrus Nyakundi, Taylor Recker and Brent Zemler; from Beaver Creek, Alyssa Allen and Avery Van Roekel; from Hardwick, Jennie Bardwell; from Luverne, Christin Dohlmann, Christa Kahnke, Carlos Lira Cardona, Shelbie Nath, Autumn Norman, Chris Syphokham, and Bobbi Westra; from Magnolia, Dana Klay.

 

SDSU announces honor students

The following area students have been named to the Spring 2017 dean’s list at South Dakota State University in Brookings, South Dakoka. To be eligible, students must earn a 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale with a minimum of 12 credits. Students with an asterisk received a 4.0 GPA.

Adrian: Anthony Reker, education and human sciences; Elizabeth Thier, education and human sciences; Joshua Irvin*, engineering; Tessa Ivers,* nursing.

Ellsworth: Paige Meester, education and human sciences, DED; Ashley Reiner, agriculture and biological sciences; Isaac Smithee, engineering; Emily Young, pharmacy and allied health professions.

Lismore: Anthony Lynn*, agriculture and biological sciences; Megan Tweet*, agriculture and biological sciences.

McLeod named to LATI dean’s list

Matthew McLeod, Hills, has been named to the president’s list at Lake Area Technical Institute, Watertown, South Dakota, for the Spring 2017 semester. To be named, students must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

 

DSU releases  Spring 2017 honors list

Adam Martin, Adrian, and Alexis Hanson, Steen, were named to the 2017 Spring Honors List at Dakota State University in Madison, South Dakota. To be named, students must earn at least a 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

 

UMD announces spring dean’s list

Sean Rollag, Beaver Creek, College of Science and Engineering, and Kayla Thone, Luverne, College of Education and Human Service Professions, were named to the 2017 spring semester dean’s list at the University of Minnesota Duluth. To be named, students must earn at least a 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

 

Taubert named to Morningside dean’s list

Carey Taubert, Beaver Creek, has earned a spot on the Spring 2017 dean’s list at Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa. To be named, students must earn at least a 3.67 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

 

Stratton makes dean’s list at U of M Crookston

Logan Stratton, Luverne, was named to the dean’s list for the Spring 2017 semester at the University of Minnesota Crookston. To be named, students must earn at least a 3.66 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

 

Bethany Lutheran announces Spring 2017 dean’s list

Andrew Jelken, son of James and Paula Jelken, Luverne, and Cora Mumme, daughter of Mark and Beth Mumme, Hardwick, were named to the Spring 2017 dean’s list at Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato.  To be named, students must earn at least a 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

 

Bosch named to dean’s list at USD

Jordan Bosch, Steen, has been named to the dean’s list for the Spring 2017 semester at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion. To be named, students must earn at least a 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

 

Thorson receives MSU scholarship

Bryana Thorson, daughter of Kip and Christine Thorson, Luverne, has received a $500 transfer scholarship from Minnesota State University Moorhead.  Undergraduate students with a minimum of 24 credits and a GPA of 3.5 or higher qualify for the scholarship.
