NDSU announces springs dean’s list

Savannah Thielbar and Sydney Thielbar were named to the North Dakota State University, Grand Forks, Spring 2017 dean’s list. To be eligible, students must earn a 3.5 GPA with at least 12 credits.

Savannah is majoring in women and gender studies, and Sydney is majoring in accounting. They are the daughters of Bart and Paula Thielbar, Luverne.

 

Area students graduate from USF

Elijah Dooyema and Carrie Soto, Luverne, and Ashley Huisken, Steen, graduated from the University of Sioux Falls Sunday, May 21, at the Washington Pavilion in Sioux Falls.

Dooyema received a Bachelor of Arts degree in sports management; Soto earned a Master of Business Administration; and Huisken was awarded a Master of Education in reading.

 

LATI awards diplomas May 12

Three area students received diplomas at the graduation ceremony at Lake Area Technical Institute, Watertown, South Dakota, Friday, May 12.

Trevor Teal, Luverne, received a degree in agriculture; Glen Dreesen, Ellsworth, in diesel technology; and Matthew McLeod, Hills, in robotics.

 

Knutson recognized at Northwestern

Klint Knutson, a May graduate in biology health professions at Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa, received the Outstanding Graduating Senior Award in biology and was named an Honors Program Scholar.

Knutson is the son of Kristi Knutson, Magnolia.

 

Schacht named to St. Cloud dean’s list

Spencer Schacht, Luverne, has been named to the St. Cloud State University dean’s list for the Spring 2017 semester. To be eligible, students must earn a GPA of 3.75 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

Schacht is majoring in mass communications in the College of Liberal Arts.
