Baartman receives degree from Mayo

Hannah Baartman, a 2011 graduate of Luverne High School, graduated Friday, May 25, from the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science Doctoral Program in Physical Therapy at Rochester.

She is the daughter of Bruce and Vicki Baartman, Brandon, South Dakota.

 

Ebert named to dean’s list at Illinois Wesleyan

Laurin Ebert was named to the Spring 2018 dean’s list with a 4.0 GPA at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois.

She is the daughter of Paul and Dyan Ebert, Big Lake, and the granddaughter of Laurin and Rose Carroll, Luverne, and the late Vance and Doris Ebert.

 

Maleki earns DVM at Iowa State

Brianna Maleki, Hills, was awarded a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Iowa State University’s Spring 2018 commencement ceremonies in Ames, Iowa.

 

Burgers earns

SDSU scholarship

South Dakota State University sophomore Jed Burgers is receiving the Larry and Jo Kallemeyn Scholarship in Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences for the 2018-19 school year.

Burgers, son of Stacen and Donna Burgers, HIlls, is majoring in wildlife and fisheries sciences at SDSU, Brookings. He is a 2017 Hills Beaver Creek High School graduate.

 

Mount Marty graduates area students

Drew Cheskie, Ellsworth, and Mary Brown, Luverne, graduated Saturday, May 12, from Mount Mary College in Yankton, South Dakota.

Mary Brown earned her Master of Science in Nursing as a family nurse practitioner.

Drew Cheskie graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in biology.

 

U of M Duluth names announces dean’s list

The University of Minnesota Duluth has named the following area students to the Spring 2018 dean’s list:

Samantha Ykema, Jasper, a sophomore majoring in biology.

Brandon Winter, Luverne, a sophomore majoring in civil engineering.

Hanna Honerman, Luverne, a sophomore majoring in elementary and special education.

Kayla Thone, Luverne, a senior majoring in unified  early childhood studies.

 

Area students named to U of South Dakota dean’s list

Several area students have been named to the dean’s list for the Spring 2018 semester at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion. To qualify, students must earn at least 12 graded credits with a 3.5 GPA or higher.

The following students were honored: Aaron Marsh, Adrian; Madison Fick, Beaver Creek; Emily Chapa, Ellsworth; Ashley Esselink and Tim Hartman, Hills; Morgan Haugen, Tayler Hoogeveen, Bailey Jacobsma, Katlynn Staeffler, Maddie Stegenga, Kelsey Theesfeld and Mike Van Wyhe, all of Luverne; Hannah Mulder, Magnolia; and Jordan Bosch, Steen.

 

Rahm earns

Soybean Processors scholarship

Michael Rahm, a 2018 Luverne High School graduate, has been awarded a $1,000 academic scholarship from the Minnesota Soybean Processors.

Michael is the son of James and Becky Rahm, Luverne.

 

Boltjes receives

Concordia College Moorhead scholarship

Ashlee Boltjes is the recipient of an Excellence Scholarship to attend Concordia College, Moorhead.

Ashlee is a 2018 Luverne High School graduate and the daughter of  Darryl Boltjes and Marti Boltjes, both of Luverne.
