Maxwell graduates cum laude

Austin Maxwell graduated cum laude from the University of Nebraska, Omaha, on Dec. 15 with a bachelor’s degree in education.

He is a 2013 Luverne High School graduate and the son of Sandy Maxwell and the late Curt Maxwell Jr.

He will be a long-term substitute physical education teacher in Bennington, Nebraska, from February through May.

He and his wife, Anna (Tofteland), will move back to Luverne in June.

U of M  Duluth announces dean’s list

Several area students were named to the Fall 2017 dean’s list at the University of Minnesota Duluth. To be named, students must earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Luverne: Hanna Honerman, freshman, integrated elementary and special education; Madison Stearns, senior, criminology; Kayla Thone, junior, unified Early Childhood studies; Brandon Winter, freshman, civil engineering.

Jasper: Samantha Ykema, freshman, biology.

Minnesota West announces dean’s list for Fall 2017

Minnesota West Community and Technical College has released the Fall 2017 dean’s list. To be eligible, students must be enrolled in at least 12 graded credits and earn a 3.5 GPA.
