Luverne employee receives prestigious award
Becca Knobloch, a medical assistant with Sanford Luverne Medical Center, received the Star Performance Award during the Sanford Health Nurses Week celebration this month.
Knobloch was nominated by her supervisor, Brittany Smeins.
“Becca is an integral part of our clinic team,” Smeins said. “When I asked her coworkers to describe Becca, without fail, they all commented on her bubbly personality and team player attitude.
“She places safety and quality at the forefront of the care she provides and is considerate and empathetic toward everyone. I am grateful to have Becca as a part of our fast-paced work environment, and I look forward to watching her continue to grow and expand her knowledge,” Smeins concluded.
The Star Performance Award is given in recognition of an individual who, though not a nurse, has helped the profession of nursing advance safe, reliable patient-centered care by demonstrating significant partnership to the nursing profession and improvement to the health care environment for staff, nurses and patients.
The Nurses Week celebration is an annual event for Sanford Health. This year’s event, conducted at the Washington Pavilion in Sioux Falls, honored nurses and other health care professionals in nine categories. Nearly 500 nominations were submitted for 2022 honors.
