Luverne’s Hailey (Stulen) Nath is among more than 150 soldiers from the Minnesota Army National Guard who deployed to Kuwait in October.
She is part of the Willmar-based 682nd Engineer Battalion deployed for an 11-month mobilization in support of Operation Spartan Shield.
The battalion has the mission of managing engineer sustainment operations throughout the Middle East, meaning it manages road and building infrastructure maintenance for coalition forces.
The deploying soldiers range in age from 19 to 54 and represent 99 different communities.
Nath is a 2012 graduate of Luverne High School and earlier this year married Ben Nath, Luverne.
The departure ceremony was Oct. 8 at the Willmar Senior High School in Willmar.
