Veta Sandhurst, 65, Magnolia, died Friday, Aug. 28, 2020, at the Sanford Luverne Hospice Cottage after a six-year battle with multiple myeloma cancer.
A funeral service was Wednesday, Sept. 2, at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Luverne. A private family burial will be at a later date.
Veta Dohlmann was born on July 12, 1955, to Henry and Mildred (Kruger) Dohlmann in Luverne. She graduated from Magnolia High School.
Veta married Bruce VastenHout and to this union one daughter, Teresa, was born. The couple divorced.
Veta married Terry Sandhurst on Aug. 31, 1996, at the Magnolia Methodist Church. After their marriage, the couple lived in Magnolia. Veta worked at Kenny’s Super Valu in Luverne. She then worked at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Luverne for over 25 years.
Veta was a member of the Magnolia Methodist Church. She enjoyed going fishing, tending to her beautiful flowers, crocheting many beautiful doilies and many other crafts.
Veta is survived by her two brothers, Dallas (Carol) Dohlmann, Magnolia, and Neil (Sharon) Dohlmann, Magnolia; many nieces and nephews; her mother-in-law, Marlene (Dave) Murphy, Windom; and many faithful friends that helped her on her journey with cancer.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Terry, on May 2, 2019; a daughter, Teresa VastenHout; and an infant brother.
Memorials are preferred to Magnolia Methodist Church.
