Taylor L. Stratton, 23, Adrian, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2019, at her home.
A memorial service was Wednesday, Feb. 6, at First Baptist Church in Luverne.
Taylor LaRae Stratton was born March 9, 1995, to James and Jennifer (Rust) Stratton in Luverne.
She was raised with her family in Luverne. Taylor attended Luverne Public Schools, where she participated in volleyball, track and golf and sang in the school choir. During her junior year of high school, she fell in love with a boy from the neighboring town, Nick Kellen. She graduated with her class of 2013.
Following school, she worked various jobs including waitressing at the Luverne Country Club and was working as a youth counselor for the Southwestern Youth Services in Magnolia.
On April 22, 2014, Taylor and Nick welcomed a boy, Dominic, into the world. The young family made their home in Adrian.
She loved to make people laugh and made friends easily. She had a talent for art, especially painting, and enjoyed doing art projects with her son, Dominic. She enjoyed scary movies, singing karaoke, going four wheeling, playing golf and going on walks with her mom on country roads.
Taylor is survived by Nick Kellen, their son, Dominic, Adrian; parents, James and Jennifer Stratton, Luverne; siblings, Britton (Anna) Stratton, Plymouth, Minnesota; Bailey (Cody) Penning, Magnolia; and Logan Stratton, Luverne; maternal grandparents, Jim and Gail Rust, Magnolia; paternal grandmother, Janice Stratton, Luverne; maternal great-grandfather, LeRoy Rust; her dog, Roxy, and many other family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Jerry Stratton; great-grandparents, Don and Janice Knips, great-grandmothers, Edwina Rust and Darlene McCreary; and great aunt Patti McAvoy.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
