Steven Orlen “Steve” Nath, 68, Luverne, died Wednesday, April 15, 2020, after a courageous battle with cancer.
       A private family graveside service was Friday at St. Catherine Catholic Cemetery in Luverne.
       Steven Nath was born Jan. 14, 1952, to Orlen and Corinne (Ruddy) Nath in Luverne. He graduated from Luverne High School in 1970. He later earned his associate’s degree from Worthington Community College.
       Steve married Wendy Weasmer on Nov. 1, 1975, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sugar Creek, Iowa. He worked on the family farm for many years. He worked for IBP in Luverne until they closed. He worked for Luverne Body Shop as an auto body tech until he retired in 2019.
       He was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church in Luverne where he served on the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of Rock County Sportsman’s Club. He enjoyed trap shooting, the Minnesota Twins, bowling, playing pinochle, Yahtzee, camping, fishing, feeding the birds and squirrels, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
       Steve is survived by his wife, Wendy, Luverne; three children, Angie Nath, Luverne, Scott (Lani) Nath, Moorhead, and Jeremy (Sarah) Nath, Luverne; five grandchildren, Zan, Jayda (Seth), Payton, Sayler and Paisley; his mother, Corinne Nath, Luverne; his stepmother, Mary Jo Nath, Luverne; two brothers, Michael (Janet) Nath, Luverne, and Thomas (Lisa) Nath, Luverne; two sisters, Pamela (Michael) Welch, Yankton, South Dakota, and Joni (Kraig) Keck, Sioux Falls, South Dakota; a stepbrother, Kevin (Karen) Brandenburg, Burnsville; a stepsister, Susan (Randy) Schneekloth, Luverne; sister-in-law Sandy (Dan) Ricks, Bountiful, Utah; brothers-in-law Jim (Cheryl) Weasmer and Steve Harrity, all of Kansas City, Kansas; and many nieces and nephews.
       Steve was preceded in death by his father, Orlen Nath; two brothers, Joel Nath and Gregg Nath; father- and mother-in-law, James and Joyce Weasmer; and sister-in-law Lori Harrity.
