Roger Stanley Peterson, 76, Perham, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019, at Prairie View Assisted Living in Perham.
A spring burial at Fort Snelling will be announced at a later date.
Roger Peterson was born Dec. 12, 1942, to Stanley and Evelyn (Lemke) Peterson in Minneapolis. He grew up and attended school in Minneapolis before serving in the U.S. Navy. He was honorably discharged in 1965.
Roger married Donna Olson on Sept. 23, 1967. The couple lived in Richfield where Roger worked for Northern States Power. They then moved to Bakersfield, California, where they purchased a convenience store that they operated for 13 years. Roger and Donna enjoyed playing co-ed volleyball and softball. The couple returned to Minnesota and moved to Roger’s family home on Lake Sybil. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid Vikings and Twins fan.
Roger is survived by his in-laws, Chuck Kussman of Dayton, Ronnie (Johnnie) Olson of Henning, Larry (Pat) Olson of Wilmot, and Marilyn Bergman of Luverne; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna, in 2016 and his parents.
