Ricky Alan Eads, 57, Claremore, Oklahoma, died Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at his home after a short battle with cancer.
A funeral service was Monday, May 9, at St. Pius X Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Ricky Alan Eads was born Oct. 31, 1958, to Arden and Juanita (Pitts) Eads in Luverne. He was raised and educated in Slayton, graduating in 1977.
Following high school he furthered his education at Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, South Dakota, where he received bachelor’s degrees in chemistry, physics and nursing. He then began his career as a registered nurse.
Ricky married Julie Pooley in 1979. Their daughter Jackie was born in 1984.
Several years later Ricky began working in the McKennan Hospital cath lab in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where he met Jennifer Cox. They were married Sept. 17, 1994, in Sioux Falls.  Soon after their marriage Ricky adopted Jennifer’s daughter, Cassie.  The Eads family then moved to Lexington, Nebraska, where their children Allison and Noah were born. 
In 1998 the family moved to Claremore, Oklahoma, where they have lived ever since.
Scouting was a huge part of Ricky’s life. He received the highest honor obtainable, that of an Eagle Scout. He and his wife shared a love for Scouts with their family, involving their children in the program.
Ricky enjoyed playing softball, bowling, hunting with his father and fishing.  He also enjoyed cooking.
Ricky is survived by his wife, Jennifer Eads, Claremore; his daughters  Jackie (Jason) Stettnichs, George, Iowa, Cassandra Eads and Allison Eads, both of Norman, Oklahoma; a son, Noah Eads, Claremore; his grandchildren, Ciara Stettnichs, Anastasia Wood, Zayne Stettnichs and Elijah Stettnichs; a sister, Debra (Joel) Gotlieb, Sioux City, Iowa; and his nieces,  Dorthy (Josh) Parker, LeMars, Iowa, and Sara Romiller, Sioux City, Iowa. 
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial donations may be made to Boy Scout Troop 81, Indian Nations Council, 4295 South Garnett Road Tulsa, OK 74146 or to Girl Scout Troop 40078 1101 S. Marion Road Sioux Falls, SD 57106.
Arrangements were by Rice Funeral Service, Claremont, Oklahoma.
