Renita M. Schlegel, 64, of Lincoln, Nebraska, died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2023, in Lincoln.
A memorial service was Tuesday, Jan. 10, at Butherus Maser and Love Funeral Home in Lincoln.
Renita Johnson was born on Dec 17, 1958, to Clifford and Leona (Sveeggen) Johnson in Luverne. She grew up in Luverne and graduated from Luverne High School in 1977. In her younger years she was a member of Rock County K-9s 4-H.
Renita moved from Luverne to Sioux Falls before moving to Lincoln in 1993 with her then husband Glen and son Shaun. She worked for several years in customer service.
Renita enjoyed playing poker and spending time with her son, friends and family.
On Dec. 11, 2015, she married Ken Schlegel Sr.
Renita is survived by her son, Shaun Westerbur; brother Daniel Johnson; many friends; extended family; and her first husband, Glen Westerbur.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her second husband, Ken Schlegel Sr.
Arrangements were provided by Butherus Maser and Love Funeral Home in Lincoln.
