Priscilla Kracht, 96, Luverne, died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017, at the Sanford Luverne Hospice Cottage.
A funeral service was Saturday, Dec. 30, at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Luverne. A private family burial followed the reception at the Maplewood Cemetery.
Priscilla Veldkamp was born March 6, 1921, to Bert and Sadie (DeJong) Veldkamp in the family home near Inwood, Iowa. She attended country school through the eighth grade. She helped her father with the farming operation.
On Dec. 28, 1944, she married Bert Kracht of Rock Rapids, Iowa. They lived and farmed at Rock Rapids, Iowa, Doon, Iowa, Beaver Creek, and near Luverne for many years. Bert died in March 2001, and Priscilla continued to live on the farm for a couple of years before moving into an apartment in Luverne. She later moved to Mary Jane Brown Home and then the Sanford Luverne Hospice Cottage.
Priscilla enjoyed working beside her husband and family on the farm. She loved her time with her family and friends. Her Christian faith was at the center of her life.
Priscilla is survived by four children, Jean (Chuck) Williams of Dundee; Bernard (Linda) Kracht of Tripoli, Iowa; Roger (Barb) Kracht of Luverne; and Shirley Patten of Grinnell, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; a brother, Don (Joan) Veldkamp of Springfield, Missouri; in-laws Lawrence (Cleo) Foos, Dick Kracht, Pete (Bernice) Kracht, Albertha Flatberg, Henrietta (Lowell) Wirtjes; many nieces and nephews; and friends.
Memorials are preferred to the Sanford Luverne Hospice Cottage at 211 E. Main St., Suite 101, Luverne, MN 56156.
