Nell Fink

Lead Summary

Pieternella “Nell” Fink, 89, Luverne, died Monday, Sept. 2, 2019, at the Sanford Luverne Hospice Cottage in Luverne from pancreatic cancer.
A private family burial is planned.
Pieternella Timmer was born on March 10, 1930, to Dutch immigrants John and Geppiena (Dik) Timmer in Mound Township, Rock County. She attended country school there through the eighth grade and later graduated from Luverne High School. During high school and until her marriage, Nell worked at the Rock County Bank in Luverne.
On Feb. 25, 1950, Nell married Milton (Bud) Fink. They bought a farm in 1957, 5 1/2 miles west of Luverne. It was their hope that they could live there in good health until they were very old. In December 2016, Bud suffered a stroke, and Nell was his caregiver until June of this year when she was not strong enough to continue.
In addition to country living, Nell enjoyed playing cards, bookkeeping, reading a good mystery novel and eating Pizza Ranch chicken.
Nell is survived by her husband, Bud Fink, of Luverne; two daughters, Pat (Pete) Body of Luverne and Marcia (Ira) Dahlman of McKinney, Texas; three granddaughters, Marilee Dahlman, Sarah Dahlman and Rachael (Nathanael) Auch; one great-granddaughter, Hannah Auch; one sister, Leona Frevik; and two nieces, Peggy Dubisar and Joan Frevik.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
