Nancy R. Petterson, 66, of rural Jasper, died on Sunday, Oct. 27, 2019, at her home.
A funeral service was Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019, at the Jasper Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jasper.
Nancy Eckhoff was born on Aug. 22, 1953, to Edward and Florence Eckhoff in Carroll, Iowa. She grew up in Le Mars, Iowa, and attended Le Mars Community Schools. After her education she moved to Sioux Falls.
On Oct. 4, 1980, she married Jeff Petterson in Le Mars. They settled on the Petterson family farm south of Jasper where they raised their two daughters. Nancy also worked as a paraprofessional at the Pipestone Area Schools.
She was a member of the Jasper Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jasper. She greatly enjoyed gardening, watching birds and reading.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Jeff, of Jasper; daughters Rachel Petterson, Minneapolis, and Alyssa (Brandon) Charbonneau, Glendale, Arizona; siblings Neil (Mary) Eckhoff, Arvada, Colorado, and Perry (Joann) Eckhoff, Tea, South Dakota; her parents-in-law, Omar and Donna Petterson, Canton, South Dakota; her brothers-in-law Mike (Kristi) Petterson, Shindler, South Dakota, and Eric (Tonia) Petterson, Waukee, Iowa; sister-in-law Nancy (friend Tim Malloy) Vande Weerd, Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Florence Eckhoff.
