Mary Merrill Hatrick
Mary Merrill Hatrick, 62, Buffalo, died unexpectedly at her home on Aug. 1, 2017.
Mass of Christian Burial is at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, at the Church of St. Albert, 11400 57th St. NE in Albertville. Visitation will be one hour before the service at church.
Mary Merrill was born on April 11, 1955, to Jack and Bernadine (Busch) Merrill in Luverne. She graduated from Luverne High School in 1973. She continued her education at Moorhead State University and at the University of Minnesota graduate school where she earned a master’s degree in special education and reading recovery.
Mary married Paul Hatrick on June 27, 1987, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Montevideo. She taught 38 years in Walnut Grove, Montevideo, and at William Byrne Elementary and Sky Oaks Elementary in Burnsville. She loved to participate in plays, school skits and bell choir for her church.
She is survived by her husband, Paul; a son, Aaron Hatrick; her mother, Bernadine Merrill, Luverne; three sisters, Martha (Kevin) Petersen, St. Cloud, Margaret (Tim) Petrick, Helena, Montana, and Missy Merrill, Luverne; two brothers, Mike Merrill, Phoenix, Arizona, and Mark Merrill, Plymouth; nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Merrill.
