Mary Efting, 92, Adrian, died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2017, at the Good Samaritan Society in Pipestone.
A celebration of life will be at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Adrian in the spring to allow family traveling from a distance to attend.
Mary Eshleman was born Dec. 27, 1925, to Charles and Henrietta (Wheeling) Eshleman in Adrian. She attended school in Adrian.
Mary married Elmer “Chick” Efting on May 9, 1945, in Aurora, Colorado. Shortly after their marriage, the couple returned to Adrian. They owned and operated Chick’s Produce, buying eggs from area farmers for over 20 years. They moved to Pierre, South Dakota, in 1967. In 1993 they moved back to Adrian. Mary became a resident of the Good Samaritan Society in 2015.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Adrian.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Jo (Dale) McClure, Jasper; a son, Bill (Carol) Efting, Glenwood Springs, Colorado; four grandchildren, Angela (Craig) Ellerbroek, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Lindsay (Chris) Hovden, Yankton, South Dakota, Brady (Alejandra) Efting, Denver, Colorado, and Casey Efting, Denver; four great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Nancy (Hugh) Sims, Lois (Walter) Ulrich and Betty (Paul) Hasse.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Elmer, on Nov. 14, 2002, one sister, and five brothers.
