Martha Josephine Schomacker, 93, Hills, died Sunday, July 7, 2019, at the Tuff Memorial Home in Hills.
A funeral Mass will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 11, at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Luverne. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Burial will be in the St. Catherine Cemetery in Luverne.
Martha Wiebelhaus was born Sept. 15, 1925, in Fairfax, South Dakota, to John and Elizabeth (Schrage) Wiebelhaus. As an infant, she moved with her parents to Hartington, Nebraska. At the age of 13, she moved with her parents to Crofton, Nebraska.
Martha married Donald Schomacker on Dec. 10, 1948, in Alvord, Iowa. The couple moved to Luverne in 1950. Martha became a resident of the Tuff Memorial Home in March of 2011.
She was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church in Luverne. She enjoyed fishing, and gardening.
Martha is survived by her son, Keith (Deb) Schomacker, Ely; four grandchildren; and a brother, John Wiebelhaus, Mitchell, South Dakota.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Don, on Feb. 9, 1984; and a niece and a nephew.
