Loretta Ann Duffy, 71, Luverne, died Monday, Aug. 24, 2015, at the Sanford Hospice Cottage in Luverne.
A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, at St. Catherine Catholic Church in in Luverne with a time of fellowship one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial of cremains will be at a later date.
Loretta Schultz was born Sept. 19, 1943, to Raymond and Anne (Pekron) Schultz in Webster, South Dakota.
On April 26, 1962, she married Phillip Duffy at St. Rose of Lima in Garretson, South Dakota. After their marriage the couple lived briefly in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, before moving to Luverne later that year.
Loretta was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church in Luverne and the WCCW. She enjoyed puzzles of all kinds, television, computer card games, coffee with neighbors, and country music. She enjoyed following her children’s activities and was also their Den Mother in Cub Scouts.
Loretta is survived by her husband, Phillip Duffy, Luverne; five children, Daniel (Cori) Duffy, Lino Lakes, Denise (Bob) Barrett, Brandon, South Dakota, Darren (Linsey) Duffy, Dell Rapids, South Dakota, David Duffy, Luverne, and Debra (Gary) Dohrmann, Rice; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four brothers, Richard (Darlene) Schultz, Dell Rapids, Roy (Bethel) Schultz, Casper, Wyoming, Don Schultz, Meadow, South Dakota, and Lawrence (Linda) Schultz, Harrisburg, South Dakota; a sister, Delores (Wayne) DeSplinter, Jasper; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
