Lois Mae Lorange, 90, Ortonville, died Feb. 29, 2016, at Northridge Residence in Ortonville.
A funeral service was Saturday, March 5, at First English Lutheran Church in Ortonville. Burial followed at Mound Cemetery in Ortonville.
Lois Smith was born Nov. 14, 1925, to Vernon and Margaret (Balder) Smith in Minneapolis. She grew up in the Jackson area and later moved to Windom and graduated from Windom High School.
On Oct. 16, 1949, Lois married Lloyd Lorange. The couple had met while working together in the J.C. Penney shoe department.
Lois loved having company over and enjoyed coffee with her girlfriends every week. Lois loved sweets and always had some stashed away somewhere for herself and her visitors.
She was a member of First English Lutheran Church, where she was involved in Circle, Day of Love, Alter Guild, and worked with the youth. Lloyd and Lois had wonderful times traveling, dancing and playing cards with friends.
Lois is survived by a daughter, Karla (Dan) Beutler of Washburn, North Dakota, a son, Paul (Connie) Lorange of Otsego and a son-in-law, John McCallum, of Fergus Falls; nine grandchildren, Erin (Josh) Tysver, Rachel (Phillip) Samuelson, Grace McCallum, Jason Beutler, Jamie (Amanda) Beutler, Justin (Abbey) Beutler, Jordan (Brittany) Beutler, Alex (Allison) Pederson and Blake Pederson; six great-grandchildren, Titus, Quinn, Aidan, Harper, Emery and Eli; and a brother, Dale Smith of Santa Barbara, California.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lloyd; and a daughter, Kathy McCallum.
