Leo Dean Bos, 59, Hills, died Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at the Sanford Hospice Cottage in Luverne.
A funeral service was Monday, June 19, at Bethel Reformed Church in Lester, Iowa. Burial followed at East Side Cemetery in Steen.
Leo Bos was born Aug. 11, 1957, to Lyle and Dorothy (Vander Steen) Bos in Luverne. He graduated in 1975 from Hills Beaver Creek High School. He became a trucker. Over the years he drove for Lyle Bos Trucking, Midwest Coast in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, PK Trucking in Omaha, Nebraska, Ryder Trucking in California, Folkens trucking in Lester, Iowa, TR Trucking in Lester, and ended his trucking career with his own truck under Barney’s Trucking.
In 2010 Leo was diagnosed with end stage renal disease and began home dialysis. He was able to continue trucking for a few more years and do the dialysis treatments while on the road. Leo had a great love for all sports but especially enjoyed NASCAR and Sprint Car races, Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Vikings. He made many friends over the years and always shared a humorous story or joke.
He is survived by his sisters, Lila (Bill) Kroon, Rock Rapids, Iowa, Lora (Bob) Sayler, Sioux Falls, and Lois (Doug) Boeve, Beaver Creek; special friends, John and Susan VandenBerg and very special “buddy” Kaden VandenBerg; many nieces and nephews; four aunts, Henrietta Bos, Hills, Joan Bos, Sioux Falls, Min Bosch, Luverne, and Marie Veldhuizen, Edgerton.
Leo was preceded in death by his parents.
