Lawrence Leonard Loger, 87, Adrian, died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2020, at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Luverne.
A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, at the United Methodist Church in Adrian. Burial will be in the Luverne Memory Gardens Cemetery following the lunch. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Adrian and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
Lawrence Loger was born Nov. 8, 1932, to Joen and Abena (Buus) Loger in Luverne. He attended school in Magnolia and Ellsworth. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
Lawrence married Margaret Kruger on Oct. 7, 1953, on Margaret’s parents’ farm near Adrian. The couple lived in Adrian before moving to Luverne in 1955. In 1957 they returned to Adrian where Lawrence worked at the Adrian Block Factory. He later worked at Culligan Water Conditioning in Luverne for over 42 years before retiring in 1998. Lawrence then worked at the Greenview Rest Area west of Adrian for over 10 years.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Adrian; the Adrian American Legion; and the Adrian Park and Pool Board. He enjoyed dancing, bowling, traveling to casinos, watching his children and grandchildren in sporting activities, and having coffee with friends.
Lawrence is survived by his wife, Margaret Loger, Adrian; two daughters, Darlene Cathey, San Clemente, California, and Robin (Donald) Erlandson, Adrian; eight grandchildren, Philip (Courtney) Springman, Miranda Cathey, Logen Cathey, Kalie (Monte) Miles, Matthew (McKenzie) Erlandson, Weston Erlandson, Stevie Ann Loger and Shelby Loger; and nine great-grandchildren, Sage, Peyton, Sawyer, Kinslee, Merritt, Noah, Hayden, Avery and Carlynn.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Warren Loger, on Jan. 25, 2010; and two brothers, Virgil and Roy Loger.
