Jerilyn A. Kille, 65, Brandon, South Dakota, died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017, at Avera Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, at Brandon Lutheran Church in Brandon. Interment will be in the Maplewood Cemetery in Luverne. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, at the George Boom Funeral Chapel in Brandon.
Jerilyn Scott, was born Dec. 16, 1951, to Earl and Marcella (Scheerhorn) Scott in Luverne. She grew up and attended elementary school in Hardwick. She graduated from Luverne High School in 1969.
On June 7, 1975, she married Dale Kille. They spent time in Topeka, Kansas, and Fort Dodge, Iowa. Later they moved to Luverne and eventually settled in Brandon. Jerilyn worked with her parents at the family bar and grill in Luverne called Scotty’s. Her favorite job was delivering flowers for Jubilee in Brandon where she so enjoyed being able to put a smile on the faces of those receiving the flowers.
Her hobbies included planting flowers and plants around her house. She loved traveling with her mom to many places, including Hawaii and Las Vegas. She bowled league for many years at Eastway Bowl in Sioux Falls. In her earlier years she enjoyed playing softball with her friends and teammates and later in life spent summers golfing with friends and family. Jerilyn enjoyed playing pinochle and other card games.
She is survived by her sons, Jesse (Amanda) Kille of Lead, South Dakota, and Jonathan Kille of Sioux Falls; and a brother-in-law, Jim (Connie) Kille of Rock Rapids, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dale, in 2007; and a brother, Randy Scott.
