Inez Christine Gould, 91, Ivanhoe, formerly of Rock Rapids, Iowa, and Luverne, died Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016, at the Minneota Manor in Minneota.
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, with visitation one hour prior to the service, at Union Memorial Church in Milford, Iowa.
Inez Nelson was born July 2, 1925, to August and Mary (Hanson) Nelson on a farm near Dickens, Iowa. She graduated from Gillett Grove Consolidated High School in 1943. She then attended Business College in Algona, Iowa, and worked for a Farmers Bank in Spencer, Iowa.
Inez married Donald Gould on Aug. 11, 1946, in Lakefield. They lived on a farm near Rock Rapids where they farmed for 18 years. They relocated near Luverne and farmed for 14 years. After they retired from farming, they moved to Ivanhoe in 1986 to manage the Prairie View Apartments. Don died on March 3, 1992, and Inez continued to manage the apartments for 25 years.
Inez enjoyed dancing, decorating, and sewing and was known to be quite the seamstress. She also enjoyed canning, bottle collecting and collecting antique furniture, refinishing her finds. For many years Inez was an avid bowler.
She is survived by four children, Sharon Moser of Colfax, Washington, Bradley (Vicki) Gould of Ellsworth, Douglas (Deb) Gould of Newcastle, Wyoming, and Sandra Loschiavo of Fort Collins, Colorado; eight grandchildren, Roxy, Michaela, Seth, Aaron, Michael, Jerica, Nick and Kayleigh; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Elaine Manke of Coon Rapids, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers, Clarence, Donald, Lee and Charles Nelson; a sister, Anna; and a granddaughter, Cherith.
