Ila Mae Travis, 91, Perham, died Aug. 14, 2020, at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, North Dakota.

Ila Mae Baumgard was born Aug. 16, 1928, to Martin and Irene (Janda) Baumgard in Alba township in Jackson county, Minnesota. Ila was baptized in the Trinity Lutheran Church. She lived in Kimbrae, Brewster and the Fulda area. She attended country school in Kimbrae and Brewster area before attending and graduating from Fulda High School with the class of 1945. After graduating she worked at the CIT Office in Worthington. 
Ila married Forrest Travis on Jan. 15, 1950, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Brewster. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Maurice and Mark. For two years Ila and Travis separated in Burbank, California, where Ila worked in Cost Accounting for Menasco Aircraft. Her career after that was as a housewife and bookkeeper for her husband. In 1986 the two were reunited in Magnolia, where they lived before moving to Battle Lake. They spent the summers on Deer Lake and the winters in Florida and Arizona.
Ila was a member of the United Methodist Church and Women, the Rock Over Country Extension Club, and the Ladies Auxiliary V.F.W. #2757 in Lodies. She had many hobbies, including bowling in her younger years, oil and china painting, gardening, crocheting, traveling and fishing. 
She is survived by her husband, Forrest Travis; her children, Maurice (Nancy) Travis of Fargo, North Dakota, and Mark (Linda) Travis of Eden Prairie; her stepgrandchildren Amy O’Brien, Kelly (Keven) Huang, Travis Peterson, and Kristi (Chad) Schmultz; six great-grandchildren; brother Wayne (Dee) Baumgard of Glendale, Arizona; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
