Gerald J. Leech, 88, Luverne, died Monday, Oct. 30, 2017, at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Luverne.
A funeral service was Saturday, Nov. 4, at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Luverne. Burial with full military honors provided by the Luverne American Legion and VFW was in the Maplewood Cemetery in Luverne.
Gerald Leech was born April 9, 1929, to Harry and Aimee (Pengra) Leech in Luverne. Jerry graduated from Luverne High School in 1948. He served his country, stationed in Japan, in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
Jerry married Marjorie Hoh on Nov. 3, 1958, at the United Methodist Church in Luverne. The couple lived in Luverne. Jerry worked as an insurance agent for Minnesota Protective Life. In 1992 he retired from the insurance business and then worked for Schwan’s for ten years.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Luverne and served on various committees. He was also a member of the Luverne American Legion and VFW. In his earlier years he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Jerry is survived by his son, Todd G. Leech, Jordan; special friend Margaret Hoh, Ellsworth; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marjorie, on April 5, 2007; an infant son, Brad; an infant daughter; and two brothers, Rex and Glenn Leech.
