Gene Stanley Olson, 85, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2019, in San Diego, California.
A private service was held.
Gene Olson was born on Sept. 4, 1933, to Harry and Serena (Moi) Olson in Luverne. The second to the youngest of six children, he was also the last surviving sibling.
Gene was known for his congenial personality and beautiful tenor voice. He sang for many weddings and funerals in Luverne. He worked in both life insurance and as a stockbroker.
He is survived by his wife, Dee; four children, Stephanie (Ken) Wilbanks, David Olson, Thomas (Kimberley) Olson and Jennifer (Eric) Taulbee; and 10 grandchildren, Alex Wilbanks, Lauren Wilbanks, Katie Joy Olson, Kris Olson, John Olson, AJ Olson, Max Olson, Tanner Olson, Avery Taulbee and Sydney Taulbee.
He was preceded in death by his sisters Harriet Olson Hall and Leona Olson Snell, brothers Odin Olson, Eldon Olson and Kenneth Olson, and his son Steven Olson.
