Gene Davis

Gene Robert Davis, 95, Minneapolis, died peacefully on Nov. 26, 2022.
A Celebration of Life will be Dec. 15, at Johanna Shores in Arden Hills. Private interment will be at a later date at Maplewood Cemetery in Luverne.
Gene attended Luverne High School and Augustana College. He was a Merchant Marine and Army veteran. Gene made a career as an insurance underwriter.
After retirement, Gene enjoyed reading biographies, gardening, and traveling the world with his wife, Mary Ann. He looked forward each day to Happy Hour, visiting and reminiscing with family and friends while drinking a Manhattan.
He is survived by his wife of 76 years, Mary Ann (McDowell) '46; children Betsy Fisher, Nancy Flatgard, Jeff Davis (Beth Kaup);  four grandsons; five great-grandchildren;  sister Sandra Robison; sister-in-law Beverly Davis; many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, JoAnna Davis; son-in-law Jerry Flatgard; his parents, Orlie and Lucille Davis; siblings Keith (Marge) Davis, Donna (Bob) Anderson, Dale Davis, and Lynn (Kathy) Davis; and brother-in-law John Robison.
