Eloise Saarloos, 60, Worthington, died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016, at her residence in Worthington.
A memorial service was Friday, Nov. 4, 2016, at the Worthington Christian Church. Burial followed at Eastside Cemetery near Steen.
Eloise Saarloos was born Oct. 30, 1956, to Elmer and Emma (Hooyer) Saarloos in Rock Rapids, Iowa. She grew up on a farm by Ellsworth and then later on a farm near Luverne. She attended school in Luverne and graduated in 1977. She later moved to Worthington, where she worked at Campbell’s Soup for 19 years and then worked at various jobs until she passed away.
Eloise enjoyed fishing, bowling, singing, including singing solos at church, Vikings and Twins games, doing latch hook projects, and most of all, spending time with Doug Schafer, her fiancé. Eloise loved her family, especially being an aunt, and her friends.
Eloise is survived by her fiancé, Doug Schafer; three brothers, John (Sue) Saarloos, Brandon, South Dakota, Robert (Joyce) Saarloos, Norwood-Young America, and Calvin (Betty) Saarloos, Luverne; a sister, Laura (Keith) Woodley, Luverne; thirteen nieces and nephews, Sara (Chad) Eischens, Norwood-Young America, Matthew (Kari) Saarloos, East Bethel, Kjerstee (Ryan) Miller, Minnetonka, Jennifer Saarloos, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Kyle (Nicole) Woodley, Coon Rapids, Jesse (Natilee) Woodley, Jeremiah (Michelle) Saarloos, Caleb Saarloos, Eric Woodley, Lucas Saarloos and Megan Saarloos, all of Luverne, and Kelly (David) Anderson and Aaron Pokett, Brandon; and 17 great-nieces and great-nephews.
