Edward Ray Woodley, 88, of Luverne died Friday, Jan. 24, 2020, at the Good Samaritan Society — Mary Jane Brown, Luverne.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, at Bethany Lutheran Church, Luverne. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, at Dingmann Funeral Home, Luverne, and one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Luverne.
Edward Ray Woodley was born on Jan. 1, 1932, in Luverne to Ray and Luella (Pank) Woodley.
He grew up on a farm north of Luverne. Ed graduated from Luverne High School in 1949. He attended Worthington Junior College.
Ed married Beverly Erickson on Sept. 30, 1951. They lived in Luverne and became parents to four children Keith, Nancy, Bruce and Carol. Beverly died in 1975.
He married Jeanne (Rust) Bittner on Oct. 2, 1976, and became stepfather to three children Sheila, Debra and Mark.
He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Luverne, and served on the Luverne Fire Department from 1958 to 1982.
Ed worked for A.R. Wood, Merrill Shoe Store, Nelson Bros., U.S. Postal Service, Woodley Auto Service, Jubilee Foods, Glen’s Food Center, Frakes Water Treatment and Bomgaars.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanne, Luverne; sons Keith (Laura) Woodley, Bruce (Wanda) Woodley, Mark (Shelly) Bittner; daughters Nancy (Paul) Wurpts, Sheila Rust, Debra Raymond and Carol (Dan) Oren;  18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; sister and in-laws Mary Ann Hustad, Bud (Gloria) Rust, Don (Alisa) Rust, Colleen (Gene) Cragoe, Karen Rust, Lorna Lorenzen, Cleo (Art) Bloemendaal, Roger (Marlene) Erickson; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Beverly, infant sister, grandson Shawn Bittner; in-laws Jim and Patricia Roberts, Albin and Florence Erickson, Art and Grace Rust and Verdell Lorenzen.
