Dorothy Helen Dorn, 83, Luverne, died Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2016, at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 2, at the United Methodist Church in Luverne with burial of cremains at the Maplewood Cemetery in Luverne. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, with an Eastern Star Service at 7 p.m. at Dingmann Funeral Home in Luverne.
Dorothy Frank was born Sept. 13, 1932, to Howard and Minna (Jessen) Frank in Luverne. She graduated from Luverne High School in 1950 and earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing cum laude from Hamline University in 1954.
On June 12, 1954, she married Robert Dorn. After several years in the Twin Cities,  the couple returned to Luverne, where they lived in her childhood home for the remainder of their 60 years of marriage.
Dorothy was a lifelong member of the United  Methodist Church in Luverne and was active in many aspects of the church including the United Methodist Women. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and International P.E.O. Sisterhood,  and the Rock-Nobles Health Board. She volunteered to administer the Rock County Food Shelf for over 30 years.
Dorothy is survived by a son, Mike Dorn, and daughter-in-law Marianne Hageman and granddaughter Eleanor M.H. Dorn of  Little Canada; two daughters, Marilee Dorn with grandsons Mitchel and Milyn Markkanen of Spicer, and Marcia Dorn with son-in-law Les Honfi of Cody, Wyoming; and sister Kathleen Gibbs and brother-in-law Allen Gibbs of Rapid City, South Dakota.
 She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert, in 2014; and two infant daughters, Mary in 1956 and Melissa in 1958.
Memorials are preferred to the Rock County Food Shelf, c/o Luverne United Methodist Church.
