Doris Viola  Morland, 98, Clarkfield, died Friday, Sept. 18, 2020, at Clarkfield Care Center in Clarkfield.
Visitation was Friday, Sept. 25, at the J. H. Lynner Funeral Home in Clarkfield. A private funeral service was Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Clarkfield Lutheran Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery.
Memorials are preferred to the Clarkfield Lutheran Church or Clarkfield Cemetery Fund.
Doris Cornelius was born to John and Mary (Amundson) Cornelius on Sept. 15, 1922, in Lisbon Township. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Bergen Lutheran Church and attended District 77 for eight years, graduating from the Clarkfield High School in 1940.
On June 18, 1943, Doris was united in marriage to Arden Morland by Army Chaplin Harry Montgomery.  In August of 1943, Doris returned to her employment at the Montevideo Hospital while her husband was overseas. Arden returned home in December 1945 from Southwest Pacific Theater of War. Doris and Arden began farming in 1946 and farmed for the next 43 years. In 1989 Arden and Doris moved to Clarkfield. In May 2009, Doris moved to Valhalla Apartments.
Doris volunteered with the Bloodmobile and was an active member in her church where she served as treasurer. In 1974 Doris and Arden traveled to Norway to visit her in-laws’ and grandparents’ homes. Doris enjoyed farming, gardening, hardanger, rosemaling, crocheting, genealogy, tole painting and arts and crafts. She was part of the homemakers, gardening and bunko clubs. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting afghans and painting dishtowels. For the last eleven years, Doris cherished all her friendships she made at Valhalla. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy.
She is survived by her three children, Kathy (Larry) Rolfs of Luverne, Dennis Morland of Clarkfield, and Duane (Jane) Morland of Clarkfield; five grandchildren, Bill Rolfs (Missy Doppenberg Schut), Tom (Jen) Rolfs, Rebecca (Dave) Cebuhar, Nathan (Amelia) Morland and Stefanie (Joseph) Fragodt; 11 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Margaret Morland; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arden; her parents; and siblings Chester, Ward, Alvin, James, Virgil, Armenta and Janice.
