Donna Lee Stoterau, 73, Beaver Creek, died Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2015, at the Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
A funeral service was Monday, Aug. 17, at Blessed Redeemer Lutheran Church in Brandon, South Dakota. Burial followed at the Maplewood Cemetery in Luverne.
Donna Oye was born Feb. 18, 1942, to Virgil and Lucille (Lauck) Oye in Hardwick. She grew up in the Hardwick area and graduated from Luverne High School. Donna worked at the Worthmore store in Luverne at the soda fountain. 
On July 17, 1960, she married Dale Stoterau and moved to Beaver Creek where they raised their three children. Donna attended Stewarts School in Sioux Falls, worked for Ford Motor Company, became a repo agent, and finished her career at the Sport Bowl. She taught all her grandchildren to bowl.
She loved to cook, bake and sew for her grandchildren. She made dresses, baby clothes for the girls, and quilts and “quillows” for everyone. Donna also loved all kinds of animals: dogs, cats and especially horses. She owned several racehorses and spent a lot of time at Canterbury Park.
Donna is survived by her husband, Dale Stoterau, Beaver Creek; three children, Kurt (Yvonne Severson) Stoterau, Luverne, Gwynne (Brent) Anderson, Brandon, and Lucinda Stoterau, Sioux Falls; seven grandchildren, Shane Stoterau, Sioux Falls, Kelcey (Brenton) Smith, Brandon, Dallas Szakatz, Sioux Falls, Kaylee Anderson, Brandon, Jordan (Dan) Wilson, Sienna Stoterau, and Mariah Stoterau, all of Sioux Falls; two great-grandchildren; four siblings, Bruce (Marilyn) Oye, Hardwick, Virginia (Woody) Peters, Jordan, Rita Shirkey, Worthington, and Burdell (Barbara) Oye, Prior Lake; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Rea; a brother-in-law, Timothy Shirkey; and one grandson, Adam Stoterau.
