Dick Visker, 94, Ellsworth, died on Monday, Feb. 24, 2020, at Sanford Luverne Hospital.
A funeral service was Friday, Feb. 28, at the Zion Presbyterian Church in Ellsworth. Burial followed at Grand Prairie Cemetery near Ellsworth.
Dick Visker was born July 1, 1925, to Jullo and Winnie (Mulder) Visker in Ellsworth. He grew up on a farm east of Ellsworth and attended country school. He graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1943. 
Dick married Elaine Nolte on Sept. 14, 1950, at Zion Presbyterian Church in Ellsworth. He then entered the U.S. Army and was stationed in Battle Creek, Michigan, until he was deployed to Germany in April of 1951. He received his honorable discharge in September of 1952. The couple began farming west of Ellsworth. Dick farmed his entire working life until he retired. After retirement he helped various farmers in the area.
He was a member of the Zion Presbyterian Church in Ellsworth and the Gilbert Larson American Legion Post 196 in Ellsworth. He enjoyed trips to casinos, solving puzzles, reading the area newspapers, drinking coffee with neighbors, and playing cards with friends.
On Oct. 8, 1992, Dick’s wife, Elaine, died. Dick remained living on the farm until 2011 when he moved into Ellsworth. He entered Parkview Manor in 2016 and remained living there until his death.
He is survived by two children, Darcey (Steve) Groen of Little Rock, Iowa, and Darryn (Beth Meyer) Visker of Richfield; three grandchildren, Justin Groen, Jordan Groen (special friend Maitland Dykstra) and Nathaniel (Venecia) Visker; a sister, Grace Kass, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
     He was preceded in death by his parents, Jullo and Winnie Visker; and his wife, Elaine.
