David Jauert, 70, Duluth, died Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019, at the Solvay Hospice House in Duluth.
A memorial service was Jan. 10, 2020, at Anchor Point Church in Duluth.
David Jauert was born on Oct. 9, 1949, to Donald and Vernice Jauert in Luverne. He grew up and attended school in Luverne. Following graduation from the University of Minnesota Duluth, he worked as a carpenter and then owned and operated the Eagles Nest Resort from 1986 to 2014. 
David enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He was known as a kind, considerate, thoughtful man with a good sense of humor.
David is survived by his wife, Jolene; children Wes (Lynn) Jauert, Lindsay (Chris) Tritabaugh and Jason (Katie) Jauert; grandchildren Olive, Penny, Edwin, Lily and Adam; siblings Lorna Schoeneman, Lynette Jauert, Darwin (Marge) Jauert and Lowell (Diane) Jauert; stepchildren Dave Hedin, Layton (Ashley) Cadence, Lydia; nieces and nephews; and other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
