Christina “Chris” Schomacker, 94, Luverne, died Monday, Sept. 28, 2015, at Sylvan Court Nursing Home in Canby.
A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, at Grace Lutheran Church in Luverne. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Burial will be at 3:15 p.m. Friday at the Kenneth Lutheran Cemetery.
Christina Keizer was born Sept. 2, 1921, to Jake and Anna (Reitsma) Keizer in Sioux County, Iowa. She attended country school in rural Sioux County, Iowa.
On April 15, 1959, Chris married Robert Schomacker in Kenneth. After their marriage the couple lived on the family farm west of Magnolia. They retired and moved to Luverne in 1987. Chris became a resident of the Sylvan Court Nursing Home in 2013.
She was a former member of the Kenneth Lutheran Church and a current member of Grace Lutheran Church in Luverne, the GLCW, and the Luverne Senior Citizens. She enjoyed baking, needlework, gardening and traveling on bus trips.
Chris is survived by a daughter, Margaret Ann (Doug) Frazeur, Canby; four grandchildren, Reed (Danielle) Frazeur, Canby, Greta (Mike) Cina, Roseville, and twins, Lisa (Kevin) Peterson, Canby, and Karen (Marc) Lorenzen, Brookings, South Dakota; four great-grandchildren; a brother, George Keizer (friend Jeannie), Inwood, Iowa; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Schomacker, on Oct. 17, 2005; a brother, Sam (Darlene) Keizer; and a niece, Joyce Keizer.
