Carol Janice Scheerhorn, 76, Hills, died Friday, Sept. 30, 2016, at Sanford Luverne Hospital in Luverne.
A funeral service was Wednesday, Oct. 5, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Hills. Burial followed in Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery in Hills.
Carol Moore was born May 11, 1940, to Elliot and Grace (Taylor) Moore in Pipestone.  She grew up in Pipestone and attended school there.
On Oct. 12, 1957, she married Eugene Scheerhorn at the United Methodist Church in Pipestone. They moved to Hills and have lived there for the last forty years.  During that time they owned and operated Blue Chip Book Binding.
 One of Carol’s favorite pastimes was camping and fishing with her husband. She also enjoyed reading, spoiling her cats and collecting dolls and antiques. She loved spending time with her family.
Carol is survived by her husband, Eugene Scheerhorn, Hills; five children,  Julie (Russ) Berkland, Estherville, Iowa, Randy (Judy) Scheerhorn, St. Cloud, Lori (Jeff) Enger, Jasper, Doug (Sheri) Scheerhorn, Beaver Creek, and Patti (Steve) Vugteveen, Valley Springs, South Dakota; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers and four sisters; and a grandson, Christopher Nath.
