Carol Beug was born on June 15, 1959, to Herbert and Ramona (Boisen) Beug in Luverne. She continued her education in Detroit Lakes and graduated from Detroit Lakes High School in 1977. She graduated in 1981 from Bemidji State University with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education.
