Carl Kopplow, 92, rural Adrian, died Thursday, July 16, 2015, at Parkview Manor Nursing Home in Ellsworth.
A funeral service was Monday, July 20, at Eastfriesland Church of Christ in Rushmore. Burial was at the Adrian Cemetery.
Carl Kopplow was born Dec. 20, 1922, to Henry and Augusta (Tiesler) Kopplow in Little Rock Township. He attended District #11 country school in Little Rock Township.
On Feb. 26, 1946, Carl married Dolores Kruse at the Emmanuel Presbyterian Parsonage south of Rushmore. After their marriage, the couple farmed south of Adrian for their entire married lives.
He was a member of the Eastfriesland Church of Christ in Rushmore, where he served on the church board and other various positions. Carl was treasurer of Little Rock Township for more than 35 years. He was also a member of the Prairie Reapers for many years. Carl and Dolores enjoyed polka music in New Ulm. They went on many bus tours and traveled to Germany to visit family.
Carl is survived by his three children, Le Wayne (Marsha) Kopplow, rural Adrian, Charlene Bradshaw, Norman, Oklahoma, and Vickie (Donn) Russell, Branson, Missouri; five grandchildren, Kristi (Mike) Dixon, Jeff (Dawn) Kopplow, Jared (fiancée Angie) Kopplow, Brian Russell and Drew Russell; five great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dolores Kopplow, on Dec. 26, 2011; a grandson, Jason Kopplow, on July 11, 1999; and two sisters, Vernice Kuhl and Irene Kamrath.
Memorials may be directed to Parkview Manor Nursing Home in Ellsworth or donor’s choice.
