Brian Jansma, 54, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, died Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at home following health complications.
A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 19, at Heartland Funeral Home in Sioux Falls. Burial will follow at Eastside Cemetery in Steen.
Brian Dale Jansma was born July 6, 1964 in Rock Rapids, Iowa. He was raised in Beaver Creek and graduated from Hills-Beaver Creek High School in 1982. He then attended Southeast Area Votech with a degree in data processing. He worked first dispatching trucks at K&J Trucking, then Midwest Coast in sales and also Darren Nelson Trucking among other firms.
Brian enjoyed boating, but motorcycling was his favorite pastime. He was a fan of the Green Bay Packers and the NASCAR legend Tony Stewart.
Brian is survived by his mother, Berniece Barstad, Brandon; two children, Austin and Loghan; three siblings, Burdell (Tylene) Jansma, Beaver Creek, Barb (Greg) Niessink, Brandon, and Beth (Brad) Rip, Zillah, Washington; along with several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Brian was preceded in death by his father, Bart Jansma.
