Bernard Clark was born to Tom and Mamie Clark on Jan. 16, 1930, in Mitchell, South Dakota. He was raised on the family farm in Plankinton, South Dakota.
Bud married Tillie Vogel on May 12, 1953, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Aberdeen, South Dakota. They were blessed with seven children. The family farmed in the Plankinton/White Lake area before moving to Luverne in 1967. Bud  worked at Land-O-Lakes for over 20 years. During that time he also started Clark’s Spraying Business. He modeled his work ethic, determination and desire to provide for his family by holding down both jobs for over 15 years.
He was an active member of St. Catherine Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Bud enjoyed watching the Vikings, playing cards and meeting his friends at McDonald’s to solve the world’s problems. He especially looked forward to spending time with his kids and grandkids and giving them his special foot rubs.
Bud had a natural curiosity to learn. He had a gift of connecting with people by listening and learning from them. Bud was a humble man with a big heart. He had a passion for staying young and healthy and was intrigued by motivational/self-help books, vitamins, exercise equipment and other gimmicks for his health.
