Alberta Mae Kremin, 76, Ash Creek, died Tuesday, April 7, 2020, surrounded by her family at home.
       A private family service will be Friday, April 10, at Maplewood Cemetery in Luverne. A celebration of Alberta’s life will be at a later date.
       Alberta Kruger was born Nov. 3, 1943, to Martin and Elizabeth (Giesen) Kruger in Steen. She was raised in Ash Creek and baptized into the Christian faith. She attended school in Ash Creek, Adrian, Hills and Luverne. Following her education, Alberta did a variety of jobs including caretaking, waitressing and cooking at multiple cafes including her own in Magnolia for a short period of time.
       Alberta married Darrell Kremin on Dec. 1, 1965, in Hemet, California. They made their home in Ash Creek where they raised their seven children. In addition to being a homemaker and good cook, Alberta enjoyed attending rummage sales and hunting for antiques. She also liked mowing the lawn and drinking coffee with family and friends. Her faith was the source of her strength in life.
       When her daughter Kim died on Sept. 22, 2000, Alberta took on the responsibility of raising Kim’s four children, Mandi, 8, Tanner and Travis, 6, and Tara, 2.
       Alberta is survived by five children, Kevin Kremin of Kenneth, Lisa Kremin of Marshall, Jason (Tamara) Kremin of Tyler, Brian Kremin of Kansas City, Missouri, and Nicole (Ron) Wilhelmi of Steen; 21 grandchildren, Ashley, Mandi, Alyssa, Tanner, Travis, Paige, Emily, Evan, Jordan, Skyler, Tara, Madayla, Trace, Kaden, Preston, Austin, Connor, Mason, Mekiah, Gracie and Jenna; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, David Kruger of Steen; and other relatives and friends.
       She was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell Kremin; two children, Jared Kremin and Kim Kremin; Martin and Elizabeth Kruger; a sister, Viola Swenson; and a brother, Melvin Kruger.
